On Wednesday, July 1st, 2015 media and local representatives gathered on the 4 blocks leading to Juarez-Lincoln Bridge(IH 35 approach) for a Press Conference at the Plaza La Noria(Farragut& Matamoros). The Press Conference announced a project and collaborative effort of the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the City of Laredo to redesign the 4 blocks along IH 35 directly in front of Bridg II. With the help of the community, the 4 block will be redesigned to represent Laredo’s vibrant culture.
Through a series of Charrette/ Design Workshops, the Laredo community and volunteering members from the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects will develop and design the 4 block space to represent the City of Laredo. The community is invited to attend and participate in these charrettes, which will be held on Thursday, July 9 and Thursday, July 16, as well as Thursday, July 23, 2015.
Local media and business representatives were in attendance for the announcement and scheduled Press Conference.
